Day Trips from Lisbon
Sintra is forty minutes from Lisbon and looks like another country: Pena Palace painted yellow and red on top of the hill, and Quinta da Regaleira with an inverted well you walk down nine storeys inside. From there the day carries on to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, and to Cascais. Here are the trips:

Frequently asked questions
How long is a day trip?
Usually 7 to 9 hours including the driving. Sintra alone fills a day, which is why some trips skip Cascais in order to fit in two palaces.
Do palace tickets need booking ahead?
Yes. Pena Palace sells timed entry slots in advance. We arrange the tickets and the entry time as part of the trip.
